Tips on asking for donations

The number one reason people donate is because they've been asked by someone they know. Here are a few fundraising tips to get you started!

  1. Share your reason to Fondo with your circle of friends and family. The fact that 100% of every dollar you raise goes directly to MSU skin cancer awareness, prevention and research is a big deal.

  2. Update your Facebook cover photo. Visit the "Graphics" tab to download a MSU Gran Fondo cover photo.

  3. Personalize your Race Roster profile page with photos and write about your connection to the mission. NOTE: If you are a returning participant, be sure to update any specific information you shared from last year's event.

  4. Tell others how their support can make a difference! Because of the MSU Gran Fondo, skin cancer researchers have:
    1. Discovered a promising new drug that could prevent the spread of melanoma,
    2. Identified drug combinations that improve treatment,
    3. And conducted other promising research.

  5. Send donation requests through Race Roster. Click on the email icon on your participant page then add email addresses and a personalized message.

  6. Host an organized fundraising activity such as a bake sale or a jeans day.

  7. Post about the ride on your social media networks! See the "Social Media" tab for a few sample messages to share on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
